The Oedipus Project
The Veldt is a band from Raleigh, North Carolina.
They were signed to Capitol Records in 1989 but the label rejected their debut album, Illuminated, and the band didn’t release another one until 1994.
This long lost album was produced by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins and now the album will finally be available.
The song “The Everlasting Gobstopper” is our first listen.

It’s been 7 years since we last heard from PJ Harvey.
Her 10th album, I Inside the Old Year Dying, is due in July.

Blondshell (Sabrina Teitelbaum) just debuted her self-titled 1st album.
This Los Angeles-based singer via NYC used to record as BAUM but now the name change and here we feature the song “Salad”.
LustSickPuppy is the marvelously named artist hailing from Brooklyn.
Referring to herself as a “shape-shifting sex canine from outer space,” her music is as outrageous as it is creative.
“RIDE IT” is her latest song.
Alaska Reid, is a singer/songwriter from Los Angles by way of Montana.
She has made numerous EPs and guest appearances.
Disenchanter will be her 1st album due in July.

Jonathan L has devoted his life to new music both here in the States and from Berlin where he met the love of his life. Jonathan and I have been friends for so many years and it has been an honour to host his weekly podcast. Our passion for discovering new artusts has never waned and his uncanny ability to expose artists from around the world has always amazed me. He has enhanced my life and hopefully yours as well. His previous shows will remain here at The Oedipus Project.

Ólafur Arnalds is an Icelandic producer and multi-instrumentalist.
He happened upon Ella McRobb on social media improving on one of his compositions.
He contacted her and together they created this truly beautiful song “and we’ll leave it there…”.
Discovered Stand Atlantic last night as an opening act.
A quartet from Australia, they’ve been around since 2012.
Last year they released F.E.A.R. which includes the standout “Pity Party” (ft. Royal & the Serpent).
