Julia Holter

Ducktails

Real Estate guitarist Matt Mondanile’s side project is Ducktails.

The latest and 5th is entitled St. Catherine.

Here are two. The melancholy beauty of “Headbanging in the Mirror” and “Church” featuring Julia Holter.

“Church” (featuring Julia Holter)

Julia Holter

Julia Holter is a most intriguing artist; she continues to enthrall me.

Now a new double-sided single.

On one side her unique cover of “Don’t Make Me Over” made famous by Dionne Warwick in her debut in 1962, written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

And “Hello Stranger”, a hit for Barbara Lewis and included on Julia’s album from 2013 Loud City Song.

Julia Holter

Julia Holter’s 3rd album Loud City Song comes out next week.

We spotlighted her brilliance here last year.

This singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles continues to take us to unexplored territories as heard here on “Maxim’s I”.

Julia Holter

Julia Holter is a Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist who creates intriguingly gorgeous experimental music.

Her 2nd album, Ekstasis, is Greek for “outside of oneself”.

Hear the layered beauty of her music here in the song “Marienbad”

As well as in the video for “In the Same Room”.
