Toyah Willcox has had a long illustrious career as both a musician and an actress.
She fronted the punk/new wave band Toyah in the late 70’s and early 80’s and then disbanded the group and turned solo.
Concurrently she appeared in numerous stage productions, films and television shows in England.
Her new group is The Humans, a trio. Bill Rieflin-bass/percussion/keyboards-has contributed to a diverse group of bands most notably REM (when Bill Berry left departed) and Ministry. Chris Wong plays bass and guitar.
Sugar Rush is the new album and features the guitar playing of Toyah’s husband, Robert Fripp, throughout.
Titanium Girl” is the lead track, and I’m particularly fond of “Playing in the Dark”.
