Courtney Barnett

Courtney Barnett is a new captivating and beguiling talent from Melbourne.

She has only released 2 EPs thus far to date: I’ve Got a Friend Called Emily Ferris and How To Carve a Carrot Into a Rose.

The two have now been combined entitled: The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas.

“Avant Gardener” is our introduction to the world of Courtney Barnett.

Empire of the Sun

Empire of the Sun is the Australian electronic duo Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore.

They debuted in 2008, toured, then took some time off and only just released their second album, Ice on the Dune, this past June.

These colorful performers now give us the infectious “Alive”, perfect for the summer.

Tame Impala

Tame Impala, the psychedelic rock band from western Australia and the brainchild of Kevin Parker, is beginning to make some significant noise outside of their home country.

Their praiseworthy 2nd album, Lonerism, was released last year in Australia, filtered around the world and topped numerous best of 2012 lists.

“Elephant” is the song.

The Strokes

It’s been awhile as I have been on the road touring Australia but there is so much new good music to share so let’s begin.

And what better way than with new Strokes music.

Comedown Machine, their 5th album, is scheduled for the end of March.

This band is the sound of New York City as heard on the first single “All the Time”.

Also included here is “One Way Trigger”, a slightly different sound for them and a song that was a free download for a time on their website.
