HUMANWINE

In the era of the song, HUMANWINE, the dynamic Boston/New England duo, have released aether, a 4 album set!

Holly Brewer, the iconoclastic gregarious tribal-tattooed ethereal singer/songwriter, has one of those voices descended from the heavens in the company of Lisa Gerrard, Elizabeth Fraser and Bjork.

The reclusive M@ McNiss provides the accompaniment.

Self-produced and crowdfunded, aether is nothing short of a small masterpiece.

Released on a flash drive in a small bottle, the 40 songs are divided into four parts, four elements: terra, aqua, aer, ignis.

Although each element should be heard in its entirety, we will present 1 song from each album the next 4 days.

Beginning today with “Gyre” from aether: aqua.

Dropkick Murphys

Boston’s Dropkick Murphys have raised over $300,000 for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing.

Through the band’s charitable foundation, the Claddagh Fund, 100% of the proceeds directly benefit those affected by the bombings and their families.

The Dropkicks raised the money by selling a specially designed t-shirt and hosting a benefit concert. They continue to generate funds with a Charity EP of three of their songs including “Rose Tattoo” featuring Bruce Springsteen.

Mission of Burma

Mission of Burma is one of the most influential bands to ever come out of Boston. Post-punk, vitally intense, uncannily discordant and blazingly modern the band turned rock over in 1979 and exposed its dark underbelly.

Mission of Burma disbanded in 1983 due to guitarist Roger Miller’s tinnitus, but in 2002 famously reunited and have since recorded 4 albums, the most recent Unsound released this past summer.

Learn How: The Essential Mission of Burma is a greatest hits compilation scheduled for December.

“Second Television” from Unsound will be included.

JEFF the Brotherhood

The appropriately named band JEFF the Brotherhood consists of two brothers from Nashville, Jake and Jamin Orrall.

They are the sons of Boston singer/songwriter Robert Ellis Orrall.

Their 7th album Hypnotic Nights will have major label distribution and features the summer song “Sixpack”.

Twin Shadow

Twin Shadow is the pseudonym of George Lewis Jr.

Born in the Dominican Republic, he currently resides in Brooklyn with previous stops in Florida and Boston.

Confess is his second album inspired by an intense ride on his motorcycle, pushing the limit, after a previous accident in Boston.

“Five Seconds” from the album harkens back to the best of the New Wave.
