Deerhunter

Deerhunter

Deerhunter’s 6th album, Monomania, came out yesterday, their first since 2010’s acclaimed Halcyon Digest.

There have been some minor lineup changes but the band remains the vision of eccentric Bradford Cox.

Describing their new record as “Nocturnal Garage”, prepare for a wild ride on this title track.

Atlas Sound

Last year Atlas Sound (the Bradford Cox solo project) freely gave us the wildly diverse Bedroom Databank, 4 volumes of experiments, demos and works in progress.

Now he has just released Parallax, his 3rd studio album. It was recorded this past summer, before the nervous breakdown he suffered while on tour with his band Deerhunter.

Both “Te Amo” and “Terra Incognita” are such a lovely songs from the album and are available as free downloads.

Atlas Sound

Bradford Cox, the lead singer and guitarist for Deerhunter (featured here previously), records solo under the name Atlas Sound. These home recordings are thoughts, meanderings, layered instrumentations, and experiments emanating from inside his prolific brain.

Currently he has four new albums of Atlas Sound material, (most of which was recorded in November!!!), entitled Bedroom Databank, Vol.1-4, available on the Deerhunter/Atlas Sound website, all free to download. Explore at your leisure.

“Mouth of the Desert”, “Mona Lisa” and “Terrarium” are from Volumes 2,3 and 4 respectively.
