My favorite Christmas song this year is by U.S. Girls, the pseudonym for the Toronto-based American Meghan Remy.
“Santa Stay Home” perfectly reflects this year’s holiday.
BTW, tonight I continue with my annual show, Christmas Eve with Oedipus, 6 hours of non-traditional holiday music heard only once a year and centered on peace, love and understanding. Hear it on WGBH, 89.7 in Boston or wgbh.org.

“Santa Stay Home”
Merry Christmas ‘even Oedipus! Thank you, as always, for your Christmas Eve program. This year, a short “thank you” from me, and as usual, I’m baking something for somebody. This year, instead of gingerbread cake, it’s spiced walnuts and pecans for one of my roommates, who is working tomorrow from 7:30 through 3 PM (someone has to take of the dogs at the boarding kennel/vets office he works at!). Tomorrow, it’s Christmas dinner for the apartment. Zack brought the Tree to the apartment tonight, and our third roommate, Luciana, made it a Brazilian/Persian dinner night. If I could find another word for “grateful” I’d give it.
Bless you, Oedipus! Merry Christmas, and here’s to a more Joyous, healthy, and sane and sound New Year.
Much obliged for the sweet comment.
Merry Christmas to you and to an even better new year.
