Singer/songwriter, hemlock springs (Isimeme “Naomi” Udu), is a self-taught electronic musician from North Carolina.
Her debut EP, Going…Going…Gone!, moves us with the cleverly titled song “Enknee 1”.
Jenn Champion has performed under a variety of names (S, Jenn Ghetto, and is a former member of the band Carissa’s Wierd), but currently uses Champion.
Her new song, “Jessica”, is a devastating account of a friend’s OD.
Jonathan L died last week in Germany. As you know his show “The Lopsided World of L” was heard here every Monday for years. (You can find them all in the “search bar”.)
New music was his life and he exposed so many artists from around the world on his show. His was a labour of love. He received no compensation but rather lived for the music and for the artists who inspired him.
As a friend and colleague, he was inspirational. His passion was his life. May we all live so sumptuously.

OK, it’s been a while since I last posted. I’ve been underwater (literally) in Indonesia. Now for new music:
Sprints are a spirited punk band from Dublin.
This 4-piece has been around since 2019 but their debut album, Letter to Self, comes out next year.

Grian Chatten is the lead singer of the one of my fave Irish post-punk bands Fontaines D.C.
His first solo album, Chaos for the Fly, leads with the song “Fairlies”.
Be Your Own Pet has reformed.
After a lengthy hiatus the Nashville quartet have signed with Jack White’s Third Man Records and the album Mommy is due in August.
The lead single “Worship the Whip” is one of the finest odes to S&M extant.
Water From Your Eyes, the art-rock duo Rachel Brown and Nate Amos from Brooklyn, offer their new album Everyone’s Crushed.
