Shilpa Ray
Punk provocateur Shilpa Ray, formerly of Shilpa Ray and Her Happy Hookers and backup singer for Nick Cave, performs solo these days.
She rages on her new single “Bootlickers of the Patriarchy”. In her own words “it’s about women who succeed from undermining the success of other women or choose to gain success from exploiting the oppression of other women.”

Monumental talent Nick Cave introduced us to his new Bad Seeds album Push the Sky Away in December.
The album is now out and “Jubilee Street” is the new darkly compelling single.
True Blood
True Blood Season 4 premiered last Sunday.
The debut show was entitled “She’s Not There”.
The Zombies’ song of the same title was rerecorded for the show by Neko Case and Nick Cave.
The combination of these two voices with the production of Louisiana musician CC Adcock adds a particularly eerie Cajun sound to this classic song.
