Glitterfox, a quartet out of Portland, Oregon, feature married couple Solange Igoa and Andrea Walker who first met at a coffeehouse open mic night.
They have 2 EPs under their belt and now this wonderful new song “TV”.
The Decemberists
Portland, Oregon’s The Decemberists are one of the best American bands extant.
Our last posting featured their take on a new song from the musical Hamilton.
Now the band has just announced a new album, I’ll be Your Girl, with the song Severed.
(P.S. shades of the band 999, if you get my reference.)

Brandon Summers (vocals, guitars) and Benjamin Weikel (drums, keyboards) are The Helio Sequence.
This Oregon duo have decided to self-title their 6th album.
“Stoic Resemblance” is one of the tracks to be heard when the record is released later this month.
The Thermals
The Thermals 6th album, Desperate Ground, came out this week.
This Portland, Oregon trio is as powerful and pertinent as ever.
“The Sunset” is the single.
The Dandy Warhols
The Dandy Warhols 8th album is entitled This Machine.
We last heard from them in 2010 with their greatest hits album, The Capitol Years 1995-2007.
(BTW, if you haven’t seen the 2004 documentary Dig!, I highly recommend it. It chronicles the fascinating love/hate relationship between The Dandy Warhols and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.)
Beat the World is the band’s own label and they record in their home studio called the Odditorium in Portland, Oregon.
“Sad Vacation” is the first single.
Blitzen Trapper
American Goldwing is the name of the forthcoming Blitzen Trapper album.
There is more of a country feel on this, their sixth album, as compared to last year’s Destroyer of the Void as heard here and here.
Mid-September is the slated release date by the Portland, Oregon quintet.
