TV on the Radio, the wildly eclectic progressive indie band out of Brooklyn, have a new album Seeds, and the first since the untimely death of bassist Gerard Smith.

So hard to choose which song to feature so we will post the first two singles.

MOURN

MOURN is a very young quartet out of Catalonia, Spain.

Jazz Rodríguez Bueno (frontwoman) and Carla Pérez Vas (guitarist/vocalist), both 18, began writing together and added drummer Antonio Postius and bassist Leia Rodríguez (Jazz’s sister), 18 and 15 respectively, to create music far beyond their years.

“Otitis” is from their self-titled debut album.

Arca

She calls herself Arca.

Venezuelan producer and DJ Alejandro Ghersi has worked with FKA Twigs, Kanye West and currently with Bjork.

Xen is her first studio album.

Peaking Lights is the husband-wife duo Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis.

From San Francisco to Wisconsin to their current home in Los Angeles, they travel with their two young sons and create music.

Belle and Sebastian

Belle and Sebastian offer their 9th studio album in the new year.

We haven’t heard from them since 2010 but leader Stuart Murdoch has been busy publishing a memoir and directing a feature film.

Wonderfully titled Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance, the first single is “The Party Line”.

Sleater-Kinney

Iconic riot-grrrl band Sleater-Kinney have returned after a 10-year absence.

Corin Tucker (vocals and guitar), Carrie Brownstein (guitar and vocals), and Janet Weiss (drums) will soon release No Cities to Love.
