Song of the Day

FKA twigs

The always intriguing FKA twigs has enchanted us for the past few years.

Her live show was easily the best I experienced pre-pandemic.

Her new creation “PLAYSCAPE” begins with a chant and then breaks into the X-Ray Spex song “Identity”.

The stunning dance video that she directed was produced for the International Woolmark Prize which honours wool!

Sun’s Signature

The magical voice of Elizabeth Fraser has once again joyfully emerged.

Her band Cocteau Twins broke up in 1997 and we haven’t heard new music from her in years.

Teaming with Damon Reece, (the drummer of Massive Attack, Spiritualized and Echo and Bunnymen among others) they call themselves Sun’s Signature.

Expect a 5 song EP on June 18th on Record Store Day which includes this song “Golden Air”.

Altın Gün

Altın Gün (meaning Golden Day in Turkish) fuses Turkish folk music and rock.

They are based out of Amsterdam.

Both vocalists are Turkish, the rest Dutch.

Love these intriguing sounds from around the world.

“Yüce Dağ Başında” from Yol, and “Badi Sabah Olmadan” from Âlem, both albums released last year.
