Warpaint bassist and singer/songwriter Jenny Lee Lindberg has a solo debut.
Referring to her solo self as jennylee, the album right on! features the song “boom boom”.
Glastonbury
Glastonbury, the world’s largest music and arts festival, takes place this weekend in South West England.
Traditionally the last weekend in June, Glastonbury has been going strong since 1970 when T.Rex was the headliner.
Today, the line-up is daunting with hundreds of bands and performing artists on numerous stages covering 900 acres.

2010/2011
The world of music is cyclical and goes into hiatus a few weeks before Christmas and into the new year. Slowly new music is released in January and gains momentum later in the winter flowing into the spring.
Bands that enthralled me last year included Arcade Fire, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Avi Buffalo, Badly Drawn Boy, Beach House, Belle & Sebastian, Best Coast, Blonde Redhead, Delorean, The Drums, Dum Dum Girls, Eminem, Girl Talk, Glasser, Gorillaz, Janelle Monáe, Joanna Newsom, Karen Elson, Laura Marling, Lykke Li, Matt & Kim, Mumford & Sons, The National, No Age, Perfume Genius, Phoenix, School of Seven Bells, She & Him, Shearwater, Sleigh Bells, Stars, Titus Andronicus and Warpaint.
And The xx continued to give me great pleasure.

Quoting from the band’s website, “Warpaint is an all-girl quartet from Los Angeles. They weave intricate guitar lines, hypnotic vocals, and driving post-punk rhythms into gorgeous, sprawling songs that skirt the line between the soundscapes of psychedelia and intimacy.” Their debut album, The Fool, is due in later October. The lovely song “Undertow” is available as a free download and is the Song of the Day.
